Bayern Munich won 2-0 on Wednesday in their visit to Inter Milan thanks to a great collective performance in which the German international Leroy Sané shone for his success, this Wednesday in the first day of group C of the Champions League .
The German was the author of the goal that opened the scoring (25) and leaked the pass that ended in an own goal by Danilo D’Ambrosio (66).
The Bavarians go on to occupy second position in group C, led by Barcelona who thrashed Czech Viktoria Pílsen 5-1 at the Camp Nou, with a hat-trick by Robert Lewandowski, a former Bayern player.
“I am satisfied with the team, we played intensely for 90 minutes,” said Julian Nagelsmann at the post-match press conference.
The German team started the game with a stir, with a save by Andre Onana to avoid a goal by Thomas Müller, the only survivor of the 2010 final between the two teams. Before the first half hour of play, Sané opened the scoring (25) taking advantage of a long pass from Joshua Kimmich and overtaking Onana.
– “We defended well” –
Inter left the locker room with more energy and being the best team on the pitch, coming close to equalizing after a shot by D’Ambrosio, which went over Manuel Neuer’s crossbar.
“There were ten minutes in the second half in which we gave a lot of space to Inter,” acknowledged Nagelsmann. “But we’ve defended their offense well and stayed compact when they’ve attacked.”
Little by little, the Bavarian team regained control, and a triangulation by Sané with Frenchman Kinglsey Coman left the German glued to the baseline and looking for a pass to Senegalese Sadio Mané. Before the striker could finish off, D’Ambrosio pushed the ball towards his goal in an attempt to clear the chance (66).
Inter came close to the goal of honor when Argentine striker Joaquín Correa took advantage of a bad back pass from French central defender Lucas Hernandez, but his shot went wide.
“After the first goal, the team reacted well and we could have equalised, but we made too many mistakes near the rival area”, Interista coach Simone Inzaghi admitted after the game.
Bayern have won their last 19 Champions League opening games, and their last loss on matchday one of this competition dates back to 2002, against Deportivo de la Coruña.
After a surprising elimination in the quarter-finals of the last edition of the Champions League against Villarreal, the team led by Julian Nagelsmann debuts with a solid image in this new campaign, in which they will try to recover the ‘Orejona’ that they won for the sixth and last time in 2020.

Roque Santa Cruz’s latest statements left several directors burning in Para Uno and although he did not exactly refer to the famous phrase “on Wednesday we have an arcade”, which was related to the Copa Paraguay match between Libertad and Olimpia, Vice President Pedro Balotta shot towards the Gumarelo striker.
“I guess he said it as a joke, because if what he says is serious, he is failing in his duty as an athlete. I hope it was an expression that was joking“, began by saying Balota in a chat with Versus radio.
Asked if it bothered or continues to bother that Roque has moved from Olimpia to Libertad, one of the direct competitors of Franjeado in Paraguayan soccer, the senior vice president replied: “At the time I think it affected us, it didn’t go well at all. We had a pretty serious conversation with him, he was asked to choose the form of payment of the debt, but I guess it’s an economic issue for him. There are codes for certain players; above all things it was a banner of Olimpia, captain of the team, made up of the team“, he highlighted.
Balotta was very harsh in one part and although he did not want to say it directly, he implied that Santa Cruz fled from the bad moment he had.
“I am nobody to tell him where he should play. I think he ran from the problems I don’t know if I should say it cowardly, but he would have told us from the beginning. I was one of those who did not want to accept in any way. He opposed the sale to Libertad The Olympia is priceless.”he pointed out with respect to the open negotiation that took place at one point between the head of the dean at the time, Miguel Brunotte, and the people of Gumarela.
Finally, the vice president of Olimpia assured that Roque stopped belonging to the showcase of idols of the dean club because of his way of leaving. “I think he made a mistake and he made a big mistake, glory is priceless. He was a glory of Olimpia. Today he is no longer an idol in Olimpia, you cannot compare him with Almeida, Amarilla, etc,” Balotta sentenced.
Pedro Ballotta in @Universo970py spoke about the appointment of Juliadoza and Elizondo.
“I think Roque ran from the problems, I don’t know whether to say cowardly”
