She was out of work. Contacted by Gottardi, she got involved and, in a few days, she will take the exam for the E driving license. The company is already waiting for you.
How did it go? Was she out of work?
“It wasn’t a traumatic dismissal, I knew I’d be out of a job. This is why I was already organizing myself. I was doing the course for Oss, I had the Naspi, I was taking away some satisfaction ».
And how did it get to the trucks?
“I got there when a person I know and who knows Gottardi put us in touch. He had already decided that he wanted to entrust the electric truck to a woman, for the sensitivity they have. He made me the proposal ».
Not really a proposal that happens every day.
“Let’s say they knew I had a C license and that in the past I had driven a rather large vehicle. But here, I had never been on one of those, I was a little curious to get on a beast like that. Then, when they told me it was electric, I told myself that I could not refuse to accept ».
It is one that fits.
“Yes I am. I was not even distressed by the job I no longer had, because I know that if a person knows how to adapt, it cannot be said that he cannot find a job. I was more afraid of the idea of going back to studying. You know, at 50, that’s what scares me, I was afraid of not remembering things, of not making it. From this point of view, the course for Oss was very useful. Because it’s tough and why I was doing it. There I took confidence in myself, I realized that I could do it. And I have faced and am facing driving licenses very positively ».
It wasn’t so obvious.
“No. But it is really true that you always have to try. If you can’t, at least you’ve tried. If you don’t try, you will always be left with doubt. I am putting all my good will and my passion into it and I will put them to work ».
What should he do now?
«In the next few days the exam for the E license. Then the qualification».
She embarked on this path at the age of 51, with two children. What did they tell you when she explained at home that she was going to drive one of those huge trucks? They must have been proud of her ability to share with her.
“They are no longer surprised at what I do, they know that their mother is ready to reinvent herself continuously”.
And what is the effect of climbing on it? You have started taking measurements of your future vehicle already these days, right?
“It certainly has an effect. You are master of the road. And I, who am small, from up here see them all from above ».
One would think that it is extremely difficult.
“Well, there are so many sensors that you feel protected in there. When I got on it was really nice, I thought it had to be mine. I have to drive it ».
He will drive the first electric truck to arrive in Italy. A little bit of effect does.
“Yes, and I’m a woman. I think this shows that women can also start thinking about throwing themselves into this sector. I can be the first, others can come. With the technologies that are there now, the job is easier. Of course, like all jobs, it must excite. But I say: “Come on women!” ».
