Main goal
Supervise daily logistics activities and provide maintenance to MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructure, according to internal standards and protocols, in order to keep the facilities in perfect condition and collaborate in the development of the mission.
Availability
6 months from 1 January 2023, if available even earlier is a plus. We ask candidates to be available to go abroad (not Italy) with MSF from the second mission onwards.

Responsibility
• Monitoring of infrastructure maintenance activities, inventory management and non-medical equipment according to MSF standards
• Ensure the control and follow-up of the facilities under the supervision of the line manager through daily visits and report any anomalies or problems; assessment of rehabilitation needs and follow up on small building rehabilitation works; checking compliance with safety standards in the premises and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/equipment
• Plan together with the line manager the necessary checks and maintenance activities of the energy systems/fitting according to MSF standards
• Coordinate and lead the logistics team under his responsibility, which includes daily supervision, monitoring the quality of work and defining the task of each person, developing work schedules, organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and participating in logistics meetings and taking into account its activities
• Ensure vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and timely supervision of preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and educate and monitor drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks
• Management and follow-up of orders, which includes the collection of logistics orders from different departments or healthcare facilities; preparation and execution of orders according to current procedures; provide technical support to the warehouse worker, carry out local purchases according to MSF’s supply procedures and guarantee the conditions of receipt of the incoming goods or material, as well as the organization and preparation of the materials before its shipment.
Context-specific responsibilities
• Ensure adequate control and management of accommodation, maintenance and service provider contracts
• Manage procurement, IR, OP, RD procedures and ensure approvals are followed as per validation table
• Be capable and experienced in supervising and following up construction and rehabilitation, electricity and implementation activities
• Manage the correct storage and archiving of all logistics and supply documents (IR, Pos, goods receipt)
• Ensure proper storage conditions for medical items, medicines, stationery, etc.
• Follow project awareness activities and supervise implemented activities, and report/communicate any needs immediately
• Ensure adequate follow-up of MSF policies and safety standards of field vehicle use, refueling and monitoring to be reported monthly to the functional manager.
Essential requirements
Instruction: Essential secondary education and formal technical training
Experience: At least one year in MSF or 2 years in a similar post not with MSF
Languages: Italian B1, English B1, basic French
Commitments: Awareness of wanting to go on a mission abroad (not Italy) with MSF from the second mission onwards
