Ibiza will have direct flights to Italy during the coming winter

The low-cost company Easyjet has scheduled flights to Milan Malpensa airport from Ibiza for the 2022-23 winter season. The programming of these flights means that the airline will maintain its operations at Ibiza airport once the summer season is over. This is not something new, since easyjet had flights to Geneva in previous winters, however, for several seasons its presence in winter at Ibiza airport was zero.

The flights offered are to Malpensa Airport in Milan. The connection will have two weekly frequencies (Wednesdays and Saturdays) until November 16 after being daily in the summer season. After a brief interruption, for the Christmas holidays, the route will be resumed from December 7 to January 11 with up to three weekly frequencies. Finally, the link will be operational again on February 11 with two weekly frequencies (Wednesdays and Saturdays) until the arrival of the new summer season.

The link with Milan was already brought forward last winter to March 9 when it was due to start on the 27th of the same month. In this way, the new programming contributes not only to the deseasonalization of airport traffic, but also to the possibility of flying directly to Italy. This is great news for all Italian residents in the Pitiusas, since until now they had to stop at other airports such as Barcelona or Valencia in order to reach their country. The last winter route to Italy was that of the Meridiana company to Turin airport, which ended in 2018.

Easyjet will also keep the route with Porto airport operational until November 12 with two weekly frequencies. This shows, once again, that the connections to Portugal have been very successful in recent summers, as both this connection and those of TAP Portugal and Vueling to Lisbon have increased considerably.

On the other hand, AirFRance-KLM’s low-cost company, Transavia Holland, has increased its flight schedule with the Netherlands. The company, which operates direct links to the Netherlands throughout the winter, has consolidated its routes in Ibiza after the constant demand for this ticket throughout the year.

For next winter, the company will have, for the first time, a direct connection to Amsterdam during the Christmas holidays, while it will maintain up to five weekly frequencies the rest of the season. Likewise, the connection to Eindhoven will have up to four weekly frequencies at Christmas, leaving two the rest of the months.

Flights to Paris

In the case of flights to Paris, Vueling has reprogrammed the direct link from Ibiza to Orly airport with two weekly frequencies for the entire winter, one more than the previous season. The new frequencies will have a departure time from Ibiza airport at 1:45 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, so it is possible to spend the weekend in the Parisian city with affordable schedules without the need to make a stopover.

Transavia France, finally, will also connect Ibiza with Orly airport during the first week of November directly
