Conference of Ambassadors of Italy. Commitment to the attractiveness, promotion and internationalization of the Italian training model in the session with Ministers Tajani, Valditara and Bernini

Rome – 22 December 2022. The sixth session of the XV Conference of Ambassadors of Italy, dedicated to Italy’s attractiveness in the world and held today at the Farnesina in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajaniof the Minister of Education and Merit Joseph Vallettara and the Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Berniniaddressed among other things the results and prospects of the Inter-ministerial working table for the attractiveness, promotion and internationalization of the Italian training model.

The meetings of the Table, which were also attended by officials of the Department of Culture led by the Minister Gennaro Sangiulianohave made it possible to draw up some proposals for maximize the attractiveness of Italian schools, universities, academies and places of culture towards young international talents as well as to enhance and promote the Italian training model in the world, making it one increasingly effective tool of influencewith significant political, economic, social and cultural returns for our country.

The session of the Conference of Ambassadors of Italy dedicated to these issues allowed the Ministers to agree on the action plan drawn up at a technical level in the interministerial table, which aims to progressively adapt the resources currently dedicated to the attractiveness, promotion and the internationalization of our training system at the levels of Italy’s main partner countries, putting all available tools into a system and involving all potentially interested players – public and private – in the project implementation phase.

The roundtable, which I convened at the Farnesina and which has met in recent weeks, has produced a document which identifies a series of short- and medium-term initiatives to raise the degree of attractiveness of our schools, academies and places of culture which in fact is the work program for the coming months”, declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani.We are already actively working on the creation of the first control room for the attractiveness and internationalization of the Italian training model”.

We must promote our educational offer in all its expressions in the world, with particular attention to highly innovative courses, such as those of the ITS Academy for companies abroad dedicated to digital, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, new technologies for health and Made in Italy. Research tells us that those who study the Italian language are more inclined to enroll in our universities and in our post-diploma courses. So we need to strengthen the network of Italian schools abroad and collaborate, as we are already doing, with countries that intend to introduce Italian into the school curriculum”, declared the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara.

Stated objective of the exercise, in the words of the Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini that of “Create a functional network of Italian, national and foreign creative infrastructures. This is the aim we have given ourselves by adhering to the initiative of setting up an inter-ministerial control room for the attractiveness and internationalization of our training model. The universities, conservatories, academies and national research centers attract young people from all over the world every year, who choose to study and work in Italy because here is the history, present and future of art and culture. Research. Our goal is to go one step further. We want these creative infrastructures, active in Italy but also abroad, to be put into a system, simplifying procedures and communicating opportunities, to make our country grow and make it even more competitive also thanks to the precious contribution of the diplomatic corps”.

“Italy has an exceptional pool of professional skills that we will pool to promote our language, our culture and our lifestyle abroad. We must ensure that more and more foreign students and cultural operators see Italy as the preferred destination for training and specialisation. And Italian as a language to learn and spread”, declared the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano.
