The 25th edition of Ecomondo and the 15th Key Energy exhibition of Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) enabled 80 international associations operating in the green economy to conclude collaboration agreements and to commit themselves to promote the ”growth blue” in the Mediterranean area.
The work of the fairs dedicated to the energy transition Ecomondo and Key Energy, which had a remarkable participation from Morocco, ended Friday evening at the Rimini exhibition center, recording a total attendance of more than 41% compared to 2021.
Organized jointly, the 25th edition of Ecomondo and the 15th Key Energy show of the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) enabled visitors and exhibitors to make nearly 550 million contacts, the organizers said in a press release.
”In the beginning, Ecomondo had 3,000 square meters of exhibition space, a number that has increased forty times after 25 years. This development reflects the immensity of the technological and scientific opportunities to be seized in the Mediterranean basin,” said the Italian Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, when closing the work.
The two fairs enabled 80 international associations operating in the green economy to conclude collaboration agreements and commit to promoting ”blue growth” in the Mediterranean area.
Many Moroccan associations and research institutes, in particular the Institute for Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), were present at the exhibition center to highlight their projects and initiatives, share their know-how and explore new opportunities.
The exhibition space, which occupies the entire Expo Center and is the heart of Ecomondo and Key Energy, showcased the latest technologies in circular bioeconomy waste recovery, water resource management and recovery and redevelopment of industrial sites.
A Green Growth Forum in Africa also brought together diplomatic personalities, researchers, academics and representatives of international civil society.
Organized in collaboration with the RES4Africa foundation, with the support of the ITA-Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Ecological Transition, this forum dedicated to Africa, which was marked by a distinguished participation from the kingdom, focused in particular on the opportunities offered by green hydrogen, the “water-energy-food” nexus and youth entrepreneurship in Africa.
From climate change to recycling materials, passing through the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energies, the Ecomondo and Key Energy fairs offered around a hundred seminars and conferences led by professors Fabio Fava and Gianni Silvestrini, at the head of the respective scientific and technical committees of the two platforms.
Innovators, international and national authorities, the world of science and academia, decision-makers and investors from all over the world took part in these reference fairs in terms of sustainable development.
